WEEKLY NEWSLETTER (28th April – 4th May, 2018)
### I am your editor in training, if however we have a budding author who would like to make this their own, please be in touch Helen van Driel
We have had two important events in our calendar since our last issue they were our Presentation Night and Anzac Day.
What a great night, great attendance, great food and a great presentation from all those who set up the night, just a great atmosphere. THANKS EVERYONE
The first presentation was the JIMMY Prize – in memory of our great friend and presented by Rosemary & John – for the player who played all 18 games and scored the highest points in our marking system and the winner was – Graeme Smith – who not only won Mid-Week but Saturday too. Well done Graeme.
Again we congratulated our winning pennant team who have achieved promotion to Division 1 their flag proudly on the wall behind them. Matt Kurta responded on behalf of those who were part of the winning squad.
Club trophies were then presented to those club members having won championship events throughout the year.
What a great season we have enjoyed as a Club and may the camaraderie continue.
After a short service held in doors and conducted by Ken Douglas members enjoyed a beautiful autumn day and social bowls with friends and a nice afternoon tea prepared by the ladies, who we thank again most sincerely.
More volunteers who were under our radar
Marie Comino – as well as her great work at Friday Happy Hour, launders the
Val Donald – who helps match and organises the tables for Saturday winter bowls.
Peggy Carr – who was our cashier for Bare Foot Bowls and helps Val on winter
Mal McKenzie – for duties above and beyond his bar duties. THANKS FOLKS
You can’t help noticing those members who have already holidayed in warm climates (they are the ones with the darker sun tans) if you too are expecting to be travelling away soon please have the following on your check list –
Name in for pennant
Unfortunately, due to the lack of entries Tuesday Triples has been abandoned.
BUT the numbers playing Wednesday has increased markedly and anyone looking
for a mid week game should come and join us and friends from other clubs are welcome, the competition is most competitive and for their $10 they get afternoon tea as well.
Winter Bowls (cont’d)
Saturday numbers are good (much the same as last year) we would love to see more members joining us and once again your friends are most welcome and afternoon tea is usually something warming and there is even a shot of green ginger wine to warm you up. We would love to see you.
BPL Challenge Cup
This is open to bowlers throughout Australia and is a knock out competition of triples.
Keysborough Bowling Club will be holding heats on 20th May, 3rd June and 5th Aug.
