Regarding the Coronavirus 23 March 2020
To All Members
Following recommendations from Bowls Australia and Bowls Victoria, together with Government directions, the Board has today made the following decisions:
(a) All Club competitions and events are postponed indefinitely.
(b) The Annual General Meeting and Presentation Night will be postponed to a date to be set.
(c) Roll ups/practice for members only, will be permitted, observing at all times the Government’s hygiene practices and social distancing recommendations.
(d) Friday night Happy Hour is temporarily suspended
(e) As from Saturday 21st March there will be no official opening of the Bar and bar volunteers will not be rostered for duty until further notice.
The Board understands that bowls is an important and enjoyable part of our members’ lives. However, our current priority is to make decisions that find the balance between members’ needs and the health and well-being of all players, coaches, volunteers and their families.
Clearly, the situation remains changeable and through the Newsletter we will update members.
On the financial side, we have already done an initial cash flow forecast for the next six months based on certain income/necessary expenditure assumptions. This is being constantly reviewed and updated.

I want to tell you about our great International Ladies Day Luncheon, organised by our Lizzie. Near 30 ladies enjoined lunch together at the Cheltenham RSL, the noise was a bit over the top, we tried to be on our best behaviour and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Lizzie, as Lizzie can, gave a great speech of the importance of women’s roles in the community and the world.
We thankyou so much Lizzie for our day.
This week’s quote – If everything is going well you have
obviously overlooked something.
